Macro Monday- Nettle & Grass

Stinging Nettle, Urtica dioica.

Dock weed

For linking with Macro Monday, go to Lisa's Chaos. You've done great in organising this.

Most of the Grass are those growing here as a result of the Birds sowing their own future food. They are quite good this.

I love it once the Grasses get to this stage. Reminds me of bathroom mats.you either love or hate those. I'm a latter.

Lovely little critters all over the place, and a new Moth too .

All these many rains of seed in the air, must have had many a spider run towards their web; then discovering the prey, caught in the silk threads, is just a bit of fluff.

A micro beetle in a transparent tub to bring it outside again. I like the round "edges" underneath and around the little critter. Cute, isn't it?

Hoovering above the Bramble in my garden, I spotted this beauty.

This Moth was sitting outside on the window. This shot I rotated to give people a 'better' view for identifying. When I went outside, it flew off as I turned the camera on. One of those days..

Anyway, it is the size of a Pug. most likely a Carpet Moth. Apart from the green/white collaring, it also has two black spots on the white band.

Ribwort Plantain, Plantago lanceoato

White Clover, Trifolium repense.
Some kind of critter is hiding in the flower too. Middle of picture, you can see a couple of legs.

Any idea on the ID of this lovely Spider? Francis found it inside the Irish Times magazine. At least it has a good taste.

Micro Beetles and Grass in the Wind

The other day I spotted 2 tiny Beetles on the Brambles in my garden. At about 05-07mm long, life was only just beginning for these little ones, I think.
I could not get very good images, unfortunately.
I first spotted the mini Ladybird on a leaf about 70cm from me, and with so many thorny leaves between subject and me, I could not move the whole network of stems, branches, and leaves. Would you like to have an earthquake uproot you while sunbathing on the beach?

Then I spotted a Green critter, equally handsome and about similar in size. It was green all over with a gold-not yellow) shine, and I think it was the wings which were actually gold.
Also, it has a pattern of black & white on the antennae.
The trouble is that when you cannot get close to your mini subject, it is very difficult to get a grip on what it looks like. To see things like this well enough; I need to take of my glasses for any close-up stuff. I have not enough hands available to deal with reading glasses, which would only be more hassle to me.

These Grasses kept swaying in the wind, and it was hard to get a focus on them and a shot. These 2 are my favourites.

But even these have to come together,

And a focus too, in the end.

Some kind of Rush
